A collection of 25 ceramic objects from Fabrica, Benetton’s creative research centre, is being exhibited at the Peyroulet gallery in Paris. With a concept created by Sam Baron and under his direction, a team of five Fabrica designers have prepared a collection of ceramics, reinterpreting the decorative tradition of these types of pieces which are typical of northern Italy. The collection is called “We are typical” and has involved the following designers: Amelie Marciasini, Eric Faggin, Ann van Litenburg, Valentina Carretta and Spanish designer Miren Marańón. With that project, Sam Baron, Fabrica’s industrial design director, has delved into how today’s designers can integrate cultural and artistic traditions into their creative processes in order to develop new objects with a coherent identity and evolution. The “We are typical” collection’s pieces were produced by a long-standing ceramics company in the area, Stylnove. They will be exhibited and on sale until the end of the month at the Peyroulet gallery in Paris and will be subsequently be on sale at Spazio Rossana Orlandi in Milan.
